An exciting opportunity to lead Crowne Plaza Penang Straits City, overlooking the scenic Penang Strait, and drive its next phase of growth, commercial performance and operational excellence.

Featuring 343 guestrooms and suites, diverse dining options, versatile meeting and event spaces, and a rooftop infinity pool with panoramic views of the Penang Strait, Crowne Plaza Penang Straits City is well positioned to cater to corporate and leisure travellers, as well as the MICE and wedding markets.
We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven General Manager to strengthen the hotel's market positioning, drive sustainable business performance and deliver exceptional guest experiences.
The role
- Provide strategic and operational leadership, driving commercial performance, profitability and exceptional guest experiences.
- Develop and execute business strategies to strengthen the hotel's market positioning, revenue growth and market share.
- Drive commercial opportunities across Rooms, Food & Beverage, MICE, weddings and other key business segments.
- Build and inspire a high-performing leadership team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and service excellence.
- Partner closely with ownership, IHG and key stakeholders to achieve business objectives and maximise long-term asset value.
- Ensure operational excellence, financial discipline and consistent delivery of brand standards.
What we need from you
- Proven General Manager experience within an internationally branded upscale or full-service hotel environment.
- Strong commercial acumen with a demonstrated track record of driving revenue, profitability and market share.
- Sound understanding of the Malaysian hospitality market, with Penang or northern Malaysia experience considered an advantage.
- Strong Food & Beverage and MICE business understanding, with the ability to identify and develop new commercial opportunities.
- Proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams while delivering operational excellence and guest satisfaction.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, particularly in working with hotel owners and corporate teams.
- A hands-on, resilient and results-oriented leader with the ability to drive positive change. Previous IHG experience is an advantage.
