Hints and Tips

Catch the recruiter’s eye with a stand-out CV. It’s your calling card and the first time we meet you. To sound as good on paper as you are in person, keep it concise, include your recent employment history and always check your spelling.

Your cover letter is how you introduce yourself. It needs to be friendly but professional and explain why you think you’d be good at the job. Read it through when you’ve finished and again, check your spelling. You don’t get a second chance to make a first impression.

If you’ve been invited to an interview, congratulations! Now you need to go online and confirm your reservation in the interview room.

Be at your best in the interview by being well prepared. Research the hotel where you want to work, get to the interview in good time and have your CV ready. Try your best to relax and be yourself. And don’t forget to ask us questions too.

Missing out on a job is disappointing but there’s always something to learn. Think about what you could do better next time and value the feedback you’re given. It’s all useful experience that can help you progress. Think of it as a stepping stone to where you want to be.
