This role will be the Cluster General Manager of the Kimpton Seafire and Hotel Indigo in Grand Cayman. As a Cluster General Manager, you'll act as the liaison between Ownership, Regional VPs, and GMs; responsible for improving the financial performance of all hotels in the assigned region as well as developing and implementing a robust sales and marketing plan.
Your day-to-day:
- Develop, implement, monitor and participate in a comprehensive sales and marketing plan that results in optimum, rate and occupancy for the hotels in your region. Meet or exceed established budgetary guidelines for the hotels.
- Protect and enhance the value of all hotel assets through the capital budgeting process.
- Ensure the timely and accurate completion of all period-end financial statements and reports, and provide controls to ensure the proper handling and accounting for all hotels and receipts.
- Develop and supervise programs that promote a positive work environment for all employees while ensuring that all employment-related processes and documentation are in compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
- Perform other tasks associated as necessary in order to achieve the financial performance and goals of the organization.
- Confers with RVP and reviews activity, operating, and sales strategies to determine changes in programs or operations required.
- Promotes organization in industry, manufacturing or trade associations.
- Ensure all hotel policies and procedures are fully implemented.
- Manages and lead and be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of all units.
- Carries out supervisory responsibility in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Oversees the interviewing, hiring, and training of employees.
- Oversees the planning, assigning, and directing work.
- Oversees and conducts performance reviews.
- Oversees the Rewarding and disciplining of employees.
- Addressing complaints and resolving problems.
What we need from you:
- Proven track record in achieving exceptional financial results in the places where he/she has worked while maintaining a balanced scorecard between Guest/Owner/Employee Satisfaction.
- Thorough knowledge of the luxury market. Understanding how to create value for the resort experience by focusing on details that contribute to creating memorable stays.
- Within permissible parameters, it is crucial to understand the role in managing relationships with Ownership, the government and the local community.
Work with Ownership in alignment with their vision of enhancing the resort experience, fostering a highly collaborative team environment with respect for and understanding of the terms of the HMA. - Deep understanding and knowing how to handle the Caribbean labor force a plus.
- Having working experience in the Caribbean will be an advantage.
- Given that the HIGC has a robust F&B program that aims not only to capture the clients of both hotels but also the local market customers, we seek a General Manager with solid F&B experience (understands F&B and has a global view on trends, can demonstrates the ability to inspire the team to execute exceptional F&B operations while maintain profitability).
- Continuing the Forbes momentum and maintain the 50 Best rating for the Library by the Sea.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute innovative initiatives.
- Understanding the concept of empowerment to delegate simple tasks and focus on those that are truly important.
- Robust experience in operational finance to maximize revenue opportunities and control costs to achieve the highest possible levels of NOI.
- Solid knowledge of revenue management and expertise in various strategies to drive ADR or occupancy as needed.
- Must have established solid business relationships with Luxury Travel Advisors, Luxury consortia’s, and UHNW customers (Frosh, FHR, Fischer Travel, Virtuoso, etc.). Additionally, he/she should maintain a solid relationship with the CI Department of Tourism.
- Positive and innovative leadership with the ability to inspire the team by “capturing their minds, hearts, and souls.”
- Without needing to be an engineer, understanding the CAPEX process and being obsessive about asset preservation, major equipment maintenance, landscaping, and execution of new projects.
- Continuing the development of local talent while maintaining an excellent relationship with the Cayman Islands Department of Labor and Immigration. Also, continuing to support the Dart/Lynn University Hospitality Training Program.
- Managing relationships with the Seafire Residence owners, understanding the balance between Owner's interests and the Residence owners' interests.
- Minimum commitment of 3 years.
