As Financial Specialist, you’ll Provide support to the Director of Finance & Business Support with timely and accurate reconciliations of all daily financial transactions, goods purchasing & receiving duties. 

With contributions to hotel payments and revenue reporting, the role acts as the gatekeeper of the hotel’s financial transactions

YOUR DAY TO DAY

  • Work together with Oversea Business Support Center (BSC) for accounts receivable invoicing, applying payments & collection activity. Also in conjunction with PM accounts that due payment and further follow up with relevant managers.
  • Acknowledge and identify any risk for bad debt provision in city ledger and guest ledger.
  • In charge of Reconcile vendor statements and attend to vendor queries when needed.
  • Daily credit card and cash reconciliations, as well as regular bank-to-book matching. Assist Duty Manager in terms of petty cash reimbursement and the GL coding allocation when it’s required
  • Arrange daily banking where required & update the Daily Revenue System (DRS) in Peoplesoft.
  • Process purchasing orders and reconciliation of goods receiving at a timely manner.
  • Safely store goods received at hotel storage and loading dock areas. 
  • Assist with training colleagues to make sure they deliver with compliance and to the standards we expect and have the tools they need to work efficiently.
  • prepare financial analysis of hotel operations including variance explanation and make recommendations to ensure the achievement of business goals.
  • Keep the Purchasing Office, main stores beverage storage and loading dock area safe and secure.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

  • Experience – 2 years in hotel accounting, internal audit or purchasing, with one year in a supervisory role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
