Housekeeping Manager - Six Senses Quexigal Palace (New Hotel Opening)

Duties and Responsibilities 

As Housekeeping Manager, I will assume full responsibility for the efficient operation of the Housekeeping department to provide exceptional products and services within brand operating standards.  

The duties and responsibilities will include: 

• I will maintain thorough knowledge of all resort facilities and services, including room categories, locations, layouts, amenities and products.
• I will support the Executive Housekeeper and the Director of Rooms in enhancing the guest room, public area and laundry experience, ensuring amenities, services and products remain relevant and aligned with Six Senses wellness and sustainability practices.
• I will oversee all housekeeping and laundry operations, ensuring exceptional cleanliness, presentation and a safe environment for guests and hosts.
• I will ensure that all departmental policies, procedures and best practices are implemented and consistently followed.
• I will work closely with Front Office, Guest Services, Reservations, F&B and other departments to anticipate and fulfil guest needs and ensure seamless operations.
• I will ensure compliance with all legal, statutory, financial, contractual, security and safety requirements, maintaining appropriate documentation, reporting systems and operational controls.
• I will lead, supervise and develop the Housekeeping team, overseeing recruitment, training, coaching, performance reviews and disciplinary procedures.
• I will organise departmental workloads, allocate responsibilities, prepare staff schedules and ensure adequate staffing according to occupancy and operational needs.
• I will conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas and hosts’ facilities, ensuring compliance with Six Senses, LQA and Forbes standards.
• I will ensure effective training and continuous development of hosts, promoting accountability, teamwork and high service standards.
• I will oversee purchasing, stock levels, inventories and storage, ensuring sustainable practices, cost control and availability of all departmental supplies.
• I will prepare and manage the annual Housekeeping budget, monitor expenses and implement cost-control measures through training and responsible resource management.
• I will coordinate preventive maintenance programmes, deep-cleaning projects and pest control activities with the relevant departments.
• I will interact professionally with guests and hosts, proactively seek feedback and ensure prompt resolution of requests and complaints through effective service recovery.
• I will monitor departmental performance, prepare operational reports and ensure accurate records and effective follow-up.
• I will demonstrate strong leadership, organisational and communication skills, maintaining a professional attitude and attention to detail at all times.

Qualifications

To execute the position of Housekeeping Manager, I must have the required qualifications, technical skills and experience in a similar role in luxury hotels with proven results and includes the following: 

• Possess a High School Diploma or equivalent. plus management or supervisory experience and four years’ housekeeping/laundry experience, preferably in a hotel of similar size and complexity. Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Hotel or Business Management and more than five years’ experience in a similar hotel operational role, preferred. 

• Fluent in English and Spanish. 

• Valid authorization to work in Spain is required. Applicants must hold the appropriate visa and/or work permit where applicable.  European visa or valid work permit required.
