Housekeeping Supervisor - Six Senses Quexigal Palace (New Hotel Opening)

Duties and Responsibilities 

As Housekeeping Supervisor, I will assume full responsibility for the efficient operation in the following: 

• Assist in the training and orientation of new hosts and conduct regular training sessions to improve performance and ensure compliance with service and operational standards.
• Demonstrate and guide Housekeeping hosts in performing their duties according to established procedures and hotel standards.
• Maintain effective communication with other departments to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Monitor daily arrivals and occupancy reports in coordination with Housekeeping and Laundry management.
• Supervise and inspect assigned areas, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, sanitation, order and presentation, providing assistance when necessary.
• Ensure Housekeeping hosts have the necessary tools, equipment and resources to perform their duties effectively.
• Coordinate the removal and handling of furniture, curtains and fixtures requiring repair, replacement or specialised cleaning.
• Inspect corridors, service areas and assigned spaces to ensure cleanliness, safety and presentation standards are maintained.
• Monitor activities within assigned areas and promptly report any irregularities or security concerns to the relevant departments.
• Ensure all Lost and Found items are properly labelled, recorded and stored in accordance with hotel procedures.
• Issue and monitor room keys, ensuring proper control and accountability.
• Respond promptly to guest requests, complaints and feedback related to Housekeeping, ensuring appropriate follow-up.
• Schedule and monitor deep-cleaning projects as required.
• Ensure Housekeeping offices, storage areas and equipment are properly maintained, organised and stored.
• Monitor stock levels and control inventories of linen, cleaning supplies, equipment and other departmental materials, ensuring timely requisitions and minimising losses.
• Monitor departmental expenses and minimise waste through responsible use of resources.
• Assist in conducting host performance reviews and establishing improvement plans and follow-up timelines.
• Identify and report health and safety hazards, ensuring compliance with hotel procedures.
• Assist guests during emergency evacuations and medical situations, following established safety procedures.
• Ensure all Housekeeping hosts consistently follow Six Senses, LQA and hotel service and operational standards, taking guest feedback into consideration.
• Assist in developing and implementing plans to improve housekeeping operations and departmental performance.
• Attend meetings and training sessions as required by management.
• Maintain and exceed established performance benchmarks and service standards.
• Perform any additional responsibilities assigned by the Housekeeping Manager or Housekeeping Director.

Qualifications

To execute the position of Housekeeping Supervisor, I must have the required qualifications, technical skills and experience in a similar role in luxury hotels with proven results and includes the following:

• High school diploma or equivalent and at least 2 years’ experience in a similar hotel operational setting. Hospitality diploma/degree from a recognized hospitality school is preferred.

• Technical skills include MS Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. I am also familiar with various hotel systems including POS, PMS and CRM platforms. I have the knowledge of hotel/resort and policies on room allocation etc.
• Fluent in English and Spanish.
• Valid authorization to work in Spain is required. Applicants must hold the appropriate visa and/or work permit where applicable.  European visa or valid work permit required.
