Taking centre stage in midtown Auckland, Hotel Indigo Auckland stands as a testament to the vibrant intersection of history, arts, culture and business. Our boutique hotel soars above the city’s skyline in one of midtown’s tallest buildings, where we’ve masterfully preserved the historic charm of the original façade – once home to Dexter and Crozier’s “The Motor House” – while creating a fresh, modern hospitality experience. 

We're looking for a passionate Neighbourhood Host to join our team and help ensure our guests are welcomed and supported during their stay. As a Neighbourhood Host, you'll ensure seamless guest services (such as valet parking and assisting with reservations), as well as recommending hidden dining gems, local events, or storytelling about our hotel's unique design and neighbourhood ties. Your warm hospitality and local knowledge will play a key role in making every stay unforgettable.

A little taste of your day-to-day 

  • Warmly welcome guests upon arrival with a genuine smile and professional greeting
  • Assist with vehicle valet services, safely parking and retrieving guests' vehicles in line with hotel processes
  • Keep detailed records of parked vehicles and their locations
  • Ensure the safety and security of guest vehicles while in your care
  • Handle luggage and belongings with care during check-in and check-out
  • Maintain an immaculate, welcoming lobby area, including seating areas and water stations
  • Maintain the exterior entrance and driveway in pristine condition
  • Provide detailed information about hotel facilities, amenities, and services
  • Share your knowledge of local attractions, events, dining options, and hidden neighbourhood gems
  • Engage guests with stories about our property's unique design, artwork, and connection to the local are.

What we need from you 

  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Professional personal presentation and grooming standards
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and handle luggage (with proper technique)
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Team player who collaborates effectively across departments
  • Experience in hospitality or customer service preferred
  • Multilingual abilities is beneficial
  • Previous valet or parking management experience
  • Legal working rights within New Zealand
