Iryna's story

During my studies in 2014 in Poland I was working at InterContinental Warsaw in F&B department. After graduating from the university I decided to relocate back to Ukraine (Sumy city). Just after the situation become dangerous in Ukraine in February, my supervisor from IC Warsaw – Joanna - called me and offered me to return back to Warsaw and work in reservations department at the hotel. They also offered accommodation for me and my family. Together with my family we decided to come to Poland. I am very grateful to my colleagues from IHG for great support and all the effort they made to make me feel at home here.

Luba's Story

I have been working in the Intercontinental Warsaw hotel in the F&B department for over 5 years and this is a place where I met real friends who supported me and my family in a difficult situation. Working for IHG gives me the opportunity to develop and constantly learn new skills.

When the war in Ukraine broke out, InterContinental Warsaw immediately started charitable activities. Employees donated food, cosmetics, blankets and other things for the refugees. The hotel offered free accommodation to people fleeing the war, including my family, who stayed at the hotel for a few weeks free of charge. I am very grateful for all the kindness and support shown by my colleagues and the Company.

Diana's Story

IHG helped me continue my career while my current hotel in Kyiv is temporarily closed.

I worked as a Sales & Marketing Director for the Holiday Inn Kyiv, and was offered a task force opportunity as Sales, Marketing and Revenue Manager in Vienna. The hotel provided me with accommodation, meals and all necessary support to obtain the work permit and bank account. I am very grateful to my colleagues at IHG for helping me during a difficult period, so I can continue to support my family, too.

Holiday Inn Gdańsk- City Centre

As the war in Ukraine began, a number of Ukrainian refugees have taken the opportunity to join the team at the Holiday Inn Gdańsk- City Centre in Poland. Working in departments including F&B and Housekeeping, our Polish colleagues are delighted that the team has grown and strengthened thanks to the arrival of our friends from Ukraine. Empathy, humanity and help - these three words contain very deep meaning in these current times.
