Your Day-to-Day

As a Commis Chef, you will be an integral part of our culinary team, supporting the delivery of exceptional food experiences across Julio's Italian Restaurant, room service, and banqueting operations.

Working alongside experienced chefs, you will gain hands-on experience across all aspects of kitchen operations while continuing to develop your culinary skills in a fast-paced and rewarding environment.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing and presenting high-quality dishes in line with Julio's and IHG standards

• Assisting with daily food preparation and service across multiple outlets

• Supporting senior chefs with mise en place, menu execution, and stock rotation

• Maintaining exceptional food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards

• Ensuring consistency and attention to detail in every dish delivered

• Contributing to a positive and collaborative kitchen culture

• Learning new cooking techniques and developing your culinary expertise

• Delivering memorable dining experiences for our guests through passion and professionalism

What We're Looking For

We're seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Commis Chef who loves great food, thrives in a team environment, and is eager to develop their culinary career.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• At least 1 year of experience in a commercial kitchen, hotel, restaurant, or similar environment

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification

• A passion for food and a genuine interest in Italian cuisine

• An understanding of current food trends and cooking techniques

• Strong organisational and time management skills

• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality

• A positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow

   

You will also:

• Be available to work a rotating roster including evenings, weekends, and public holidays

• Have unrestricted Australian working rights with no limitations on working hours

• Be capable of meeting the inherent physical requirements of a busy hotel kitchen

• Demonstrate a strong commitment to teamwork and guest service excellence
