Key Responsibilities

Culinary Leadership & Strategy

  • Define and execute the overall culinary strategy in alignment with Regent brand positioning and guest expectations
  • Curate distinctive dining concepts across all outlets, ensuring innovation, authenticity, and market relevance
  • Champion a culture of culinary excellence, creativity, and continuous improvement

Pre-Opening & Concept Development

  • Lead kitchen planning, design validation, and equipment selection in collaboration with project teams
  • Develop pre-opening timelines for all culinary operations, including menu engineering and SOPs
  • Drive recruitment, onboarding, and training of the culinary team to Regent luxury standards

Operations Excellence

  • Oversee all kitchen operations including restaurants, bars, in-room dining, banqueting, and specialty outlets
  • Ensure consistency, quality, and presentation of all culinary offerings at the highest level
  • Implement robust food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards in line with IHG guidelines

Financial Performance

  • Develop and manage culinary budgets, food cost controls, and profitability targets
  • Optimize menu pricing, sourcing strategies, and operational efficiencies without compromising quality
  • Contribute to overall hotel commercial performance through innovative revenue-generating initiatives

Talent & Culture

  • Build, lead, and inspire a high-performing culinary brigade
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and luxury service mindset
  • Identify and develop high-potential talent, ensuring strong succession planning

Guest Experience & Brand Representation

  • Create memorable, personalized dining experiences aligned with Regent’s brand ethos
  • Engage with guests, VIPs, and stakeholders to enhance the hotel’s culinary reputation
  • Act as a brand ambassador, representing the hotel in media, events, and industry engagements

Key Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Executive Chef or senior culinary leader within luxury or ultra-luxury hotels/resorts
  • Strong pre-opening experience preferred, particularly in complex, multi-outlet environments
  • Deep understanding of global cuisines with the ability to localize concepts to the Kuala Lumpur market
  • Demonstrated financial acumen and ability to drive profitability
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • International exposure within leading hospitality brands preferred
