With our exciting growth strategy across Europe there has never been a more exciting time to become part of our Design team.  Whilst predominantly working on the Midscale portfolio, this role will give exposure to all our Brands.

In this role you will be responsible for driving the design in our hotels to  ensure we achieve operational efficiency, brand defining hotels whilst supporting growth in our portfolio. You will advise and report on hotel properties and projects to ensure any hotels entering the IHG system conform to brand standards, and requirements. 

Fluency in German & English is a pre-requisite to the role. 

Your day to day

• Ensure hotel projects are designed in line with IHG and industry best practice whilst supporting the relevant IHG brand values and positioning.
• Provide advice and support to existing hotels, to help improve, develop, and enhance their design and layout as requested. 
• Advise clients on the best and most cost-effective design solution (performance uplift) to create an efficient hotel, compliant with the relevant standards and owners’ expectations.
• Great Hotels Guests Love - To be responsible for individual hotel projects, liaise with internal and external customers and report on a timely basis progress of projects. To receive, visit and report on property details as required by Development including compliance with brand standards, fire/life safety standards and good practice. 
• New Hotel Development – Manage the process of reviewing potential hotel projects in line with IHG Brand Standards and design guidelines including concept design, documentation, and inspections, as well as the pre-opening inspections. 
• Brand Execution – Manages the process for Property Improvement Plans to include on site evaluations and execution of PIP plans. Ensures that quality of work and standards are followed and maintained at all properties to protect integrity/image of brands. 
• IHG and Team Engagement- Works closely with Engineering and Brand Safety function within the region to collaborate on issues impacting new conversion or renovation project plans and related costs to ensure objectives are achieved and consistency in standards.

What we need from you

Whilst we love experience, mindset is of equal importance. We’re looking for someone who is committed with a natural ability to operate effectively in a fast moving, global environment. 

Experience 

• Minimum 5 years in experience in design, construction, and project management in a multi-national company in a service branded environment. 
• Strong knowledge of architecture, design, and construction principles with an understanding of applicable laws.

Technical Skills and Knowledge

• Culturally sensitive and team oriented with outstanding influencing and networking skills - Flexible interpersonal style - Effective communication - Strong influencing skills - Project management expertise - AutoCAD user to proficient standard - Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
