As the first InterContinental Resort to land in Australia, InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort reflects the grand, graceful architecture of a classic Queensland estate, nestled within the beautiful surrounds of Sanctuary Cove.  Surrounded by 4.2 hectares of lush landscaping with the show-stopping beach lagoon at the centre, the Resort has 251 distinctive rooms all boasting private balconies, 15 diverse indoor and outdoor meeting and events spaces and 5 restaurants & bars.

At InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort we are looking for a Part Time Reservations Agent to join our team.

Under the general direction of the Reservation Manager and within the limits of established InterContinental Hotels Group brand and local policies and procedures, responsible for all group activities relevant to the Reservations Department such as assisting with inquiries and bookings, liaising with key departments, establishing strong relationships with our clients, and displaying exceptional phone and customer service skills.

Your day-to-day

• Assist in the efficient day-to-day operation of the Reservations Department.  Optimising hotel occupancy and average rate.
• Ensuring customer service is of the highest possible standard; that product standards are achieved.
• Regularly obtain and evaluate guest feedback.  Handling any concerns in a timely manner and inline with company standards.
• Accurately process reservations, amendments and cancellations 
• Be confident and knowledgeable in all special promotion procedures and loyalty programs
• Maintaining accurate records of booking correspondence
• Assist in preparation of statistical reports as requested by the Revenue Manager
• Assist in updating Standard Operating Procedures and reference guides as required, and adhering to outlined policies and procedures.
• Maintain intimate knowledge of departmental standards and procedures
• Assist Front Office as required with various tasks.
• Develop and maintain cohesive working relationships within immediate team, and wider hotel team
• Attend and participate in briefings, meetings and training sessions as scheduled

What we need from you

Qualifications –

• Completion of high school (year twelve)

Experience –

• Friendly Persona
• Ability to develop rapport within a short time frame
• Neat Personal Presentation
• Previous experience with Opera, Microsoft Word/Excel and Holidex Plus desirable. Ability to adopt new programs readily and quickly.
• Previous experience in a Reservation role is preferred
• Previous experience working with Opera is highly desirable
