Are you an experienced engineering professional with a passion for excellence in the luxury hotel industry? We are looking for a highly skilled and dynamic Cluster Head of Engineering to join our team at IHG Hotels & Resorts in Malta. 

You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day maintenance operations of our prestigious hotels including InterContinental, Holiday Inn Express, VOCO Hotel – Malta, whilst ensuring that all facilities meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead & Manage: Oversee the Plant, Rooms, Public Areas, and Projects teams, ensuring efficient allocation of tasks and staffing levels to meet operational demands.
• Budget & Cost Management: Responsible for managing the engineering budgets for the three hotels, ensuring cost-effective operations without compromising quality or service.
• Maintenance Excellence: Ensure the hotels maintain adherence to preventive maintenance programs for all areas, including plant rooms, guest rooms, and public areas.
• Project Leadership: Lead hotel renovations and new projects, negotiating contracts, managing timelines, and ensuring completion within budget.
• Safety & Compliance: Maintain records for compliance with Health & Safety regulations and Legionella control, ensuring a safe and secure environment for guests and team members.
• Emergency Response: Oversee the on-call team and ensure rapid response to emergency breakdowns and maintenance tasks during evenings and weekends.
• Sustainability Focus: Actively promote a “green” hotel initiative and ensure the sustainability of all engineering practices.

Requirements:

• Must be in possession of Degree in (Electrical License preferred)
• Hotel Maintenance Experience: Proven track record in managing and leading maintenance teams, including experience with general maintenance, plumbing, electrical work, building services, and health and safety regulations.
• Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and people management abilities with excellent project management and troubleshooting skills.
• Hotel Experience: Previous experience working within a hotel management environment is highly advantageous.
• Emergency Availability: Must be available to respond to emergencies during evenings and weekends when required.
• Health & Safety Knowledge: In-depth understanding of relevant health and safety regulations and practices.
