The role 

We’re delighted to announce a brand-new leader opportunity within our Global Procurement team. As the Director, Global Procurement Program Management Office (PMO), you will be at the forefront of driving exceptional service delivery, enabling the achievement of IHG’s strategic goals. This is a pivotal role within our organisation, leading a team designed to provide critical support to PLT members and drive the success of our global procurement programmes. 

 

In this newly established role, you will lead the PMO team, ensuring seamless execution of procurement initiatives that directly contribute to IHG's broader objectives. You’ll collaborate closely with key stakeholders across the business, empowering functional leaders to achieve their goals. Your leadership will be key in establishing a world-class PMO function that supports IHG’s vision for growth and transformation.

Your day to day 

  • Leads Program Management Office (PMO) team for Global Procurement, ensuring PMO service delivery to assigned PLT members. 
  • Develop, implement, and refine on an ongoing basis the Global Procurement PMO strategy, capability framework and service catalogue. 
  • On-going development and refinement of the Procurement Excellence (PE) strategy in collaboration with the PE LT, ensuring alignment to functional and organisational strategic objectives. 
  • Partner with the Procurement Leadership Team and other stakeholders to ensure the strategy enables delivery of their objectives. 
  • Day-to-day lead on major change/transformation programs, as well as ensuring that change is embedded in the organisation effectively. 
  • Development of strategic communications material (strategic decks, white papers) to clearly articulate strategy and progress against goals 
  • Create dashboards for VP Procurement Excellence to stay updated on priority initiatives. 
  • Identify and prescribe the governance models to ensure appropriate project and risk management as well as audit compliance. 
  • Defines digital enablement needs for GP PMO team and works in partnership with the digital team to deliver automation. 
  • Promote/champion a culture of continuous improvement, facilitating thought leadership and leverage of leading practice. 
  • Lead the team through coaching, developing, and motivating high performing individuals, with delegation key to successful delivery. 
  • Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders (PLT, other Chief of Staff / PMO in other functions)

To excel in this role, you’ll bring: 

 

Educational Requirements: 
 

Master’s degree in business, Strategy, Operations, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience. 

 

Key Expertise & Experience: 

  • Over 4 years of progressive experience in strategy, consultancy, or a corporate environment, with exposure to a wide range of business challenges. 
  • Proven ability to plan and manage complex projects, assess business needs, and develop strategic plans accordingly. 
  • Strong strategic thinking capabilities with demonstrated success in analysing markets, performance data, and business challenges, and deriving insights and conclusions using financial modelling and analysis. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal, written and slideware), with the ability to build relationships across various business units for collaboration, storytelling, and effectively communicating our organisational journey to stakeholders.
