We know that it’s never been more crucial that we move fast and act now, and our corporate responsibility team is at the heart of this, supporting IHG’s three operating regions – The Americas, Europe, Middle East, Asia & Africa (EMEAA) and Greater China. We also hold responsibility for leading all ESG reporting activities and communicating progress to a variety of highly engaged stakeholders.
The Role
Join our team for a fixed term of 1 year and play a key role in shaping IHG’s responsible business narrative! In this exciting role, you'll drive our ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) reporting efforts, contributing to our annual Responsible Business Report, ESG Databook, and disclosures for major regulatory bodies. You'll manage the tracking of IHG’s Journey to Tomorrow sustainability targets and collaborate with third-party ESG ratings and research platforms like CDP and Sustainalytics.
You will manage cross-functional teams to develop impactful communication materials under tight deadlines, ensuring alignment with project timelines. You will support key internal stakeholders, including our Responsible Business Board Committee, while overseeing the maintenance and adherence to our Corporate Responsibility (CR) policies and procedures. Your role will be crucial in driving timely project execution and fostering collaboration across departments. Partnering closely with Investor Relations, you’ll help respond to ESG investor queries and lead the ESG Reporting & Engagement Specialist team, ensuring we meet our ambitious sustainability goals.
What we need from you
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working within large multinational organisations that operate in highly regulated environments and leading on report productions. You should demonstrate strong planning skills, comprehensive project management capabilities, and a passion for Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives.
You must be adept at meeting tight deadlines while maintaining a keen attention to detail and the ability to collaborate effectively across various functions. Experience in producing annual responsible business reports is highly desirable, as is the ability to communicate complex issues clearly to diverse stakeholders.
Additionally, familiarity with key ESG reporting frameworks (such as TCFD and CSRD) and experience in data submission for prominent ESG indices (including CDP and Sustainalytics) would be an advantage.
