Whats the Job
InterContinental Hayman Great Barrier Reef is remote island location in the Great Barrier Reef of Queensland. As a remote island location resort staff are accommodated in the Hayman Colleague Village. The Hayman Colleague Village offers 369 rooms across three separate areas of the island. This is in addition to the resort inventory. The Village accommodates IHG Colleagues, Colleague Visitors, Third party subcontractors staying short term or long term on island, The Hotel School Students, IHG Visitors etc.
The Village Duty Manager will assist with all operational and business management aspects of the business unit (Village). As well as the smooth running of the daily operations and assisting with future projects in plan for the business. As Village Duty Manager, you’ll direct/oversee aspects of the Hayman Colleague Village including Front Desk, Reservations, Housekeeping (Rooms, Public Area and Property Presentation), Kitchen Operations, Retail, Food & Beverage (Colleague Bar), Maintenance, Accounting, Payroll Management, Personnel enquires, Colleague Activities, Colleague Transportation, Polices and procedures creation and building improvement projects. This is to deliver a memorable and unique colleague experience and bring the brand to life.
Your day to day
InterContinental Hayman Island is a remote resort located in the Great Barrier Reef, Queensland, where staff are housed in the Hayman Colleague Village. The Village offers 369 rooms across three areas on the island, in addition to the resort’s accommodation inventory. It serves a variety of occupants, including IHG colleagues, visitors, third-party subcontractors, Hotel School students, and other IHG affiliates staying both short and long term.
As Village Duty Manager, the role involves overseeing all operational and business management aspects of the Hayman Colleague Village. This includes ensuring the smooth daily operations and assisting with future projects. Responsibilities span across areas such as front desk, reservations, housekeeping, kitchen operations, food and beverage services, maintenance, payroll, personnel inquiries, and colleague activities. The role aims to deliver a unique and memorable colleague experience while maintaining high standards and supporting the resort’s ongoing development and brand values.
What we need from you
We are looking for an enthusiastic and professional events planner who excels at delivering exceptional service and exceeding guest expectations. The ideal candidate will have foundational experience in event coordination, along with strong interpersonal skills, both written and verbal. You should be able to manage multiple tasks and conflicting deadlines efficiently, while demonstrating a proven ability to adapt to varying situations as they arise.
