Meetings & Events Sales Executive – Crowne Plaza Geelong

We are currently seeking a passionate and results-driven Meetings & Events Sales Executive to join our Commercial team.

 

What's the Job?

 

As our Meetings & Events Sales Executive, you'll be responsible for building strong client relationships, convert enquiries into business, and work closely with operational teams to create seamless and memorable experiences for our guests. You'll be managing meetings, events, and group enquiries from initial contact through to successful event delivery. 

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys sales, event planning, and delivering exceptional service while working in a fast-paced hotel environment.

 

Your day-to-day

 

  • Manage meeting, event, wedding, and group enquiries from enquiry through to confirmation and execution. 

  • Prepare proposals, contracts, banquet event orders, and other event documentation. 

  • Conduct hotel site inspections and host prospective clients. 

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to drive repeat business and referrals. 

  • Prospect and secure new business opportunities across relevant market segments. 

  • Coordinate all event requirements, including room setup, menus, timings, decor, and AV needs. 

  • Work closely with Food & Beverage, Front Office, and operational teams to ensure seamless event delivery. 

  • Conduct pre-event and post-event meetings and follow up with clients to gather feedback. 

  • Ensure deposits, billing, and administrative requirements are completed accurately and on time. 

  • Maintain accurate records within Delphi and Opera Cloud and other hotel systems. 

  • Contribute to achieving team revenue goals through proactive selling and upselling opportunities. 

  • Deliver exceptional guest experiences that reflect Crowne Plaza and IHG brand standards. 

 

 

What we need from you 

  • Minium one year of experience in a hospitality or hotel sales or marketing setting or an equivalent combination of education and work experience with proven track record of success 

  • Bachelor’s degree / higher education qualification / equivalent in events or tourism 

  • Experience using Delphi, Opera Cloud, Salesforce, or similar hotel systems is highly regarded. 

  • Flexible and adaptive working approach  

  • Exceptional communication skills, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. 

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail. 

  • A friendly, professional, and proactive and customer-focused approach with a passion for delivering outstanding experiences.
