Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Portfolio Engineering Manager to oversee engineering and maintenance operations across a portfolio of 12 Holiday Inn Express hotels. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring all properties maintain the highest standards of safety, compliance, operational efficiency, sustainability, and guest satisfaction.

The successful candidate will lead hotel engineering teams, manage preventive maintenance programs, oversee capital expenditure projects, drive energy management initiatives, and ensure compliance with IHG brand standards.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering Operations

• Lead engineering and maintenance operations across all assigned hotels.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs.
• Ensure HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, lighting, and water treatment systems are operating efficiently.
• Maintain all facilities in compliance with IHG brand standards.
• Support hotel renovations, refurbishments, and capital improvement projects.

Team Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and develop engineering teams across the portfolio.
• Set performance objectives and conduct regular reviews.
• Ensure proper staffing levels and workforce planning.
• Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Financial Management

• Prepare and manage annual engineering budgets.
• Monitor departmental expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Support procurement and contract negotiations with vendors and service providers.
• Drive energy-saving and sustainability initiatives to improve operational efficiency.

Compliance & Safety

• Ensure compliance with local building, fire, environmental, and safety regulations.
• Conduct regular audits and inspections.
• Maintain emergency preparedness plans across all properties.
• Implement asset protection and risk management measures.

Vendor & Stakeholder Management

• Manage relationships with outsourced maintenance providers and contractors.
• Coordinate with hotel leadership teams to ensure operational excellence.
• Monitor service quality and contractor performance.

Qualifications & Experience

Required

• Degree/Diploma in Engineering, Building Maintenance, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field.
• 8–10 years of engineering leadership experience.
• Multi-property hospitality experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of hotel engineering systems and preventive maintenance.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of local safety, environmental, and building regulations.
• Proficiency in English and local language.
• Willingness to travel frequently across portfolio hotels.

Preferred

• Experience within international hotel brands.
• Exposure to energy management and sustainability programs.
• Project management and capital planning experience.
