The Opportunity

As the island Engineering Trades Assistant, you will be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all areas of the resort and colleague village. With naturally high standards to support our own, you will approach every task with devotion and pride.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Assist with general maintenance across the Resort and Colleague Village.
• Complete rooms, public area and back-of-house maintenance as required.
• Assist with maintenance of resort utilities, plant rooms, pools, lakes and ponds.
• Conduct lighting checks and replace lights as required, seeking electrician assistance where necessary.
• Assist with garden, lawn, road, drainage and general grounds maintenance.
• Complete waste and litter removal and maintain clean, safe work areas.
• Assist with maintenance across kitchens, laundry, guest rooms, food and beverage outlets, marina and staff facilities.
• Assist with stock takes and ordering of general maintenance parts and supplies.
• Use maintenance systems and complete required reporting.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with IHG and Resort standards.

Base rate $31.30 + penalties + loading

To be successful in this full-time role, you’ll have:

• Current Queensland White Card.

• Previous experience in engineering, maintenance, hotel or resort operations is preferred.

• Sound knowledge of maintenance equipment, engineering tools and hand tools.

• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and email.

• Experience with HotSOS, Hardcat or similar maintenance systems.

• Strong attention to detail and pride in delivering high-quality work.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Flexible, reliable and willing to assist across all areas of the Resort.

• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
