Your Day to Day
What an amazing time to be joining IHG. With spectacular openings in our region and a healthy pipeline of new hotels to come as well as a newly revamped rewards program the timing couldn’t be better.
Due to growth in the region we have a new vacancy of Human Resources Manager for New Hotel Openings Japan. This role will report to our Senior Director, Human Resources Japan and will be based in our Tokyo Support Centre office.
In the role the successful candidate will work with the Japan based hotel teams, and the New Hotel Opening Team to deliver successful hotel conversions and new hotel openings. On a day-to-day basis you might partner under the guidance with the Senior Director, Human Resource Japan to support pre-opening budget activity, implement localized ways of working or partner with the local GM’s to support key role recruitment and onboarding - including the hotel HR Manager. In this exciting and fast paced role you will be responsible for all communication and planning around HR related matters leading to the opening of hotels in Japan.

日本国内のホテルチームや新規ホテル開業チームと協力し、ホテルのコンバージョンや新規ホテル開業を成功に導く役割を担っていただきます。日常的には、日本・人事本部長の指導のもと、開業前の予算策定サポートや現地ホテルの総支配人及び人事部長と採用や入社オンボーディングのサポートなどがございます。 このエキサイティングでペースが速いポジションは、日本の新規ホテルの開業まで人事のすべてのコミュニケーションとプランニングを担当することになります。
What we need from you
To be successful in this role the following skills and attributes are highly desirable.
Minimum of 4 to 7 years of experience in HR with a preference of at least 3 years at Human Resources Manager level
Strong knowledge of IHG Human Resources systems, policies and processes is ideal
Good understanding of Employee Relations practice in the Japan markets, in particular labor regulations, payroll systems and recruitment
Ability to deal effectively with key stakeholders and colleagues across diverse cultures and geographies
Strong project management and organizational skills
Evidence of involvement in and leading change management, process innovation practices
High level of business savvy, solution focused mindset
Strong verbal and written language capability in both Japanese and English at a Business Level
