The Benefits Manager is responsible for assisting with the design, implementation and administration of the Americas benefit programs while partnering with vendors and HR leadership to ensure optimal delivery. This position brings a balance of thought leadership, customer focus, process rigor and analytical skills

This position ensures the continuation of comprehensive, competitive benefit programs that are aligned to our philosophy and are locally competitive and relevant. Ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations on all qualified benefit plans. In addition, provide enhanced tools to managers and employees to increase efficiency – making information more readily available for effective and timely decision making and streamlining processes wherever possible. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Working with the Director of Benefits, responsible for assisting in the evaluation, selection, and administration of current and new benefit programs. Assist with and implement benefits processes and programs, including market competitive reviews, internal consistency, governance, compliance and financial analysis.
  • Lead the day-to-day administration of the US benefit plans. Advise company management on benefit policies and program matters, recommending new or revised benefit plan offerings and ensuring plan design changes are consistent with strategic direction.
  • Assist in leading and managing the annual US Open Enrollment process completely. This includes but is not limited to conducting on-site and/or virtual open enrollment meetings, updating relevant materials including the company intranet, updating employee presentations, providing notices to COBRA participants, coordinating any updates with vendors, vendor integrations and working with HRIS and Payroll.
  • Work closely with the Finance team on cross-functional matters involving global benefit plans. Assist with the preparation and management of the budget and on-going financial analysis for all regional benefits plans.
  • Provide advice, expertise, thought leadership and strategic perspective to the business and HR leaders on matters pertaining to benefit related topics.
  • Counsel employees on benefit issues or problems and assist with escalation to vendors as needed.
  • Assist the Director of Benefits with any M&A activities, assimilation, and harmonization projects.
  • Act as liaison between benefits brokers, vendors, and insurance carriers to assure proper administration of the plans. Monitor vendor performance for all programs to ensure accuracy and excellent customer service.
  • Stay current with federal and state legislation regarding benefit programs including ERISA, ACA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, and Section 125
  • Act strategically and proactively to identify trends and ensure compliance.
  • Manages annual projects and events (e.g., health fairs, vaccination clinics, etc.).
  • Assist with reconciliation of billing statements for healthcare plans and other benefit programs, as needed.
  • Lead and manage the implementation of new programs or benefit changes.
  • Understand plan performance and trends and provide actionable advice and creative solutions for all benefit programs.
  • Collaboration with Human Resources, Legal and Corporate Communications colleagues to create and deliver compelling employee communications regarding regional benefit programs.
  • Define and oversee execution of processes related to the complete employee life cycle including new hires, life events, retirement, employment termination.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Extensive experience in benefit programs.
  • Solid knowledge of applicable state, federal, and local regulations on all qualified benefit plans.
  • Critical thinking, customer focused, collaboration and accelerating change to drive continuous process improvement.
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal and team skills.
  • Detailed-oriented, good follow-through and project management skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work well with others in cross-functional teams.
  • Strong computer software skills including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook.

Educational/Certification Requirement:

  • Requires a BA degree and a minimum of 6 years of progressively responsible broad based, employee benefits experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
  • Benefits certification(s) desired.

Pay Transparency: 

The salary range for this role is $115,000 to $130,000. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Eastern and Central Time Zones.  This is the lowest to highest pay scale we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs. 

***This job is also eligible for a 15% bonus pay***
