Key Responsibilities:
Order Processing:
- Receive and record orders from guests via telephone, in-person, or through electronic ordering systems.
- Confirm order details with guests, including special requests, dietary restrictions, and allergies.
Menu Knowledge:
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of the menu items, including ingredients, preparation methods, and pricing to provide informed recommendations to guests.
- Inform guests about daily specials and promotions.
Communication:
- Relay orders accurately to the kitchen and bar staff, ensuring clarity and understanding of guest requests.
- Communicate any special instructions or modifications to the appropriate team members.
Customer Service:
- Provide excellent customer service by being attentive, courteous, and responsive to guests' needs and inquiries.
- Address guest complaints or concerns promptly and escalate issues to management as necessary.
Quality Control:
- Ensure that all orders are prepared and delivered to guests in a timely manner and meet the hotel's quality standards.
- Check the accuracy of orders before they are dispatched from the kitchen or bar.
Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate records of orders taken, payments received, and any guest feedback.
- Assist in inventory management by reporting low stock levels of menu items or supplies.
Health and Safety:
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including food safety standards and cleanliness protocols.
- Ensure the work area is clean and organized at all times.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with kitchen and service staff to ensure a smooth operation and excellent guest experience.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred; hospitality or food service training is a plus.
- Experience: Previous experience in a customer service or food and beverage role is preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent listening skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic math skills for handling cash and processing payments.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and order management software.
