Your day-to-day
Food & Beverage operations
- Exceptional service is delivered to the highest standards
- Cultural awareness to be able to customize service and offering to individuals
- Greeting, seating and serving guests in the restaurant & bar, making beverages, attend to clean and replenish tables to Holiday Inn’s brand standard, taking and delivering Room Service orders, set up and pack down of events, delivery amenity requests prior to guest arrival via room service.
- Ensure the security and proper storage of floats, guest property, food and beverage products, inventory and equipment, and replenish supplies in a timely and efficient manner while minimising waste
- Ensure that all food and beverage facilities and equipment including banquet spaces are cleaned, vacuumed, and properly stocked according to anticipated business volume.
- Ensure your knowledge and awareness is maintained at all times by adhering to Responsible Service of Alcohol and Liquor License Victoria regulations.
- Assist to have at all time a clean environment on the restaurant & bar floor as well as banqueting, trolleys etc.
Celebrate and support the “journey to tomorrow” with reducing waste by recycling activities and mindfulness of usage of utilities.
Guest Experience
- Contribute to Total Revenue through highlighting promotions to guests and maximising up-selling and suggestive selling opportunities across each guest’s stay.
- Drive revenues and guest satisfaction.
- Pro-actively approach guests in the open hotel lobby and business centre to offer food & beverage offerings.
- Ensuring True Hospitality behaviours by making guests smile and building genuine connections Understand and ensure to deliver our IHG Holiday Inn brand standards.
- Help the team - you are always around to help your team mates and share the workload with other duties as required
- Fixing problems - you will be there to help resolve guest issues and ensure they leave having had an exceptional stay IHG One Rewards Club advocate - you will drive loyalty recognising existing members and knowledgeable to promote inclusions in the various loyalty levels and recommend the program to non-members Know who we are - you will be across our brand standards and work towards making a great Holiday Inn branded experience for all
- Be a neighbourhood host - know what’s happening in the neighbourhood and the hotel keeping up to date with events, groups and hotel information such as guest feedback
- Ad-hoc duties – no day is the same, unexpected moments can occur when we have to pull together to get a task done within the food & beverage department, being one team approach, this involves helping supporting other.
What we need from you
- Previous experience in a Restaurant, Bars, Conference & Events or related position is highly regarded
- Qualifications in Hotel or Hospitality Management or Food & Beverage related field preferred
- Valid Responsible Service of Alcohol Certification is a mandatory compliance requirement
- Computer System savvy, you’ll have experience using an point of sale system (Infosays) or other similar relatable systems.
- Flexible attitude to shifts – you will be working early mornings starting at 6.30am in Food & Beverage, late nights finishing at 1 or 2am for Food & Beverage dinner events, weekends and public holidays are all part of the expectation being available to do the job required
- Excellent communication skills - bilingual or multilingual language skills are advantageous along with full comprehension understanding and speaking in English language to fellow colleagues and guests
- Literacy skills - reading, writing and basic maths skills A team player, ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritise your own workload as well as jump in and help your colleagues as needed
- Fitness and Strength – you’ll be on your feet most of the day with manual handling involved at times bending and kneeling to complete some activities such as cleaning and other required job tasks. Sometimes you’ll need to lift, push and pull objects like, barrels, crates, tables, chairs, furniture, boxes, stock and kegs up to 23 kg – we have the equipment and fellow colleagues to support you when performing manual handling beyond the recommended capacity of one person
- Presentation is key – look smart and wear the correct uniform and name badge with pride. Grooming and Presentation standards policy are to be adhered to at all times. Colleagues to take extreme care with personal grooming and hygiene in order to maintain a consistently high level of professional appearance and confidence
