YOUR DAY TO DAY  

People

  • Lead and mentor the People & Culture team  
  • Create programmes to foster a positive work environment for all employees, including the annual team member satisfaction survey  
  • Coach and develop managers on People & Culture disciplines to strengthen leadership capability across the hotel  
  • Welcome and conduct new team member orientation  
  • Oversee maintenance of accurate and up-to-date personnel files and records for all employees  
  • Ensure hotel or company hiring standards and applicable laws and regulations are followed  

Financial  

  • Own and manage the People & Culture department budget, controlling expenses and identifying efficiencies  
  • Monitor staffing to manage costs  

 

Guest Experience

  • Develop creative ways to inspire and motivate team members to provide guests with a unique experience  
  • Make time to interact with guests to hear feedback and build relationships to understand how team members can increase guest satisfaction  
  • Work with department managers to develop initiatives to reach service standards and drive continuous improvement in the guest experience.  

 

Responsible Business  

  • Develop awareness and reputation of the hotel and the brand in the local community and promote team member involvement in local community  
  • Ensure compliance with relevant employment laws, policies and procedures  
  • Conduct annual People & Culture compliance/standards self-audit  
  • Research and investigate all workplace issues to discover facts, identify potential risks to the hotel or company, and facilitate resolution through your employee relations programmes. Escalate serious issues
  • Collect and maintain data from exit interviews, turnover statistics, absenteeism reports to identify trends, training needs, and supervisory issues  
  • Support succession planning and talent development for key roles across the hotel  
  • Other ad-hoc duties as required

 

Accountabilities

  • Full leadership of the People & Culture team's day-to-day operations
  • A positive, engaged workplace culture reflected in team member satisfaction scores  
  • Full compliance with employment law, hotel policy, and People & Culture standards  
  • Timely, well-documented resolution of employee relations matters  
  • Accurate, well-maintained personnel records and HR reporting
  • Development of a robust talent pipeline through succession planning and coaching

 

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU  

  • To thrive in this role and bring poise and precision to the guest journey, you'll need:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field  
  • Minimum 6–8 years' experience in Human Resources, including at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial capacity, ideally within luxury hospitality
  • Knowledge of employment law and HR compliance practices  
  • Proven ability to lead employee engagement and culture-building initiatives  
  • Proven experience leading and developing a team, with the ability to deputise for senior leadership  
  • Excellent interpersonal, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills  
  • Fluent English required; other languages an advantage
