As a Business Development Manager, you will drive revenue growth by building strong relationships with clients, identify new sales opportunities, manage corporate accounts, support conferencing and events sales, all while playing a key role in the commercial strategy, to ensure short and long term goals align with the sales plans for both Crowne Plaza and the IHG network.
Your day to day
- Actively pursue and research potential new business opportunities across both the corporate and meetings and events sectors
- Grow existing accounts by discovering new opportunities within the current customer base to drive further business
- Meet monthly client engagement targets including but not limited to; site inspections, face to face appointments and cold calling
- Monitor progress towards sales goals and adjust actions as necessary, this includes hotel pipeline activities, and present reports on performance and growth initiatives
- Manage events calendar within the sales units, ensuring all sales and conversion tools are in sync with destination and market specific events
- Assist Conference and Events with proposals, contracting, reconversions and further development of repeat and historical clients as necessary
- Monitor the performance of current business accounts and ensure ongoing customer satisfaction
- Organise and participate in trade shows, events, and networking opportunities that form part of the sales and marketing plan to promote the hotel
- Collaborate with the sales, marketing, and operations teams to ensure alignment in business development initiatives
What we need from you
- Proficiency in multiple systems including but not limited to Delphi, HotelKey, OTA Insights, Lighthouse and Amadeus Agency 360
- Tertiary qualifications in Business Administration, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or a related field is desirable
- Proven track record of generating new business and meeting sales targets and within the hospitality industry is highly desirable
- Eye for detail and ability to analyise data from various systems
- Ability to drive tasks from start to completion
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
- In-depth knowledge of the local and global hospitality market trend
