We are searching for a Director of Engineering that sees the big picture to keep his team one-step ahead of maintenance challenges. A little taste of your day-to-day

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:

• Participate in the preparation of the annual departmental operating budget and financial plans, monitor and control expenses. 
• Lead hotel renovations and other projects, source and negotiate contracts, and ensure timely completion of projects within budget.
• Direct daily engineering needs, plan and assign work ensuring you always have the right team in place. 
• Develop team and improve their performance through coaching and feedback, and create performance and development goals for colleagues - recognise good performance. 
• Ensure a safe and secure environment for guests, team members in compliance with regulatory policies and procedures. 
• Maintain relations with outside contacts including guests, regulatory agencies, others as needed.
• Carry out preventive maintenance programme to ensure facility is maintained and in service for our guests.
• Demonstrate Awareness of WSH regulations, policies and procedures and ensure all procedures are conducted safely and within WSHA regulations and ensure team practice the same. 
• Perform other duties as assigned. 

What we need from you

• Candidate should possess at least Diploma/Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor's Degree/Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Engineering (Others) or equivalent.
• 10 years of experience in general building maintenance and/or construction or equivalent. 
• Expertise in Mechanical and Electrical is essential while additional experience in ACVM, sanitary, plumbing and carpentry would be advantageous.
• Fully kept abreast with the local standards relating to maintenance of hotel, not limiting to Fire Code of Practices.
• Possess knowledge on Building Maintenance and Strata Management Act (BMSMA) would be advantageous.
