As Laundry Manager, I will support the efficient operation of my department to provide exceptional products and services within Six Senses brand operating standards and budget.
I will work strategically with the Executive Housekeeper to develop cohesive and productive goals for my department and establish procedures/guidelines to achieve them. I will maintain an overall consistency of the Company’s vision, quality/standards and develop concepts consistent with brand identity.
The Duties and Responsibilities Will Include:
- Keep abreast of industry trends and practices and update knowledge and skills to improve the product and service offering.
- Focus on the rejuvenation of my department.
- Assist on ensure processes are constantly assessed and reviewed to remain relevant, innovative and in keeping with Six Senses wellness and sustainability practices.
- Assist to lead a team of engaged and experienced hosts to provide the Six Senses exceptional standards of operation and service.
- Handle and assist in department training and orientation of all new hosts and regular trainings to •Housekeeping hosts to improve job performance, meet guidelines and standards of service and operation.
- Demonstrate to laundry hosts how to perform each task in job description according to hotel service standard.
- Maintain regular and effective communication with other departments to ensure the smooth operation of housekeeping functions.
- Supervise and inspect the work of laundry hosts ensuring high standard of order, hygiene, sanitation, cleanliness and aesthetic value throughout all service areas and assist when necessary.
- Ensure laundry hosts have the tools and equipment needed to effectively carry out their respective area of responsibilities.
- Administer schedules to ensure enough manpower coverage and to minimize overtimes payment.
- Inspect corridors and service areas as assigned to ensure high standard of order and cleanliness.
- Monitor all activities on assigned areas and report irregularities to Security department.
- Ensure all lost and found items are labelled, recorded and stored with Housekeeping management.
- Issue and control availability of room keys.
- Review and maintain documentation, reporting systems, contractual obligations, security and safety protocols, communications, product and service standards.
- A high standard of personal appearance, grooming and hygiene, plus comprehensive knowledge of safety, security and emergency procedures will be maintained by myself and all hosts in line with brand and statutory requirements.
- Ensure that interaction and communications between departments within the property are clear and effectively maintained to support the smooth running of the property.
- Ensure that all activities within my department are carried out ethically, honestly and within the parameters of local law.
- Assist on the control of my department’s budget. Budget should be strictly adhered to and all costs will be continually monitored and controlled to drive profitability, while taking into consideration the preservation of required standards with every decision made.
- Prepare and submit legally required and confidential documentation related to my department.
- Attend or conduct the designated meetings and briefings as instructed by the General Manager with a two-way flow of pertinent information and communications.
- Perform any additional duties given to me by the General Manager.
Qualifications
To execute the position of Laundry Manager, I must have the required qualifications, technical skills and experience in a similar role in luxury hotels with proven results and includes the following:
- I possess a minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Hotel or Business Management and more than five years’ experience in a similar hotel operational role.
- Technical skills include Advanced MS Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. I am also familiar with various hotel systems including OPERA platforms.
- I have an excellent command of written and spoken English, and I am able to live in a remote location for extended periods of time and travel on single status.
