What makes a hotel development opportunity commercially compelling? Join IHG Hotels & Resorts as an Investment Analysis Analyst and help answer that question—bringing together market intelligence, financial modelling and commercial judgement to inform hotel development decisions.

Working with our Development organisation and colleagues across the Growth function, you’ll assess new opportunities and support the retention and renewal of existing hotels. Reporting to the Director, Investment Analysis, you’ll turn complex information into clear recommendations, helping stakeholders understand a deal’s potential, its risks and the value it could create.

What you’ll do

• Assess the opportunity. Research markets, review hotel assets and analyse comparable properties to inform the positioning and feasibility of proposed developments.
• Bring the numbers to life. Build and evaluate hotel profit and loss projections, value contracts against proposed deal terms and identify the risks and opportunities that matter.
• Inform investment decisions. Develop clear analysis for committee approval papers, align projections with relevant teams and highlight key considerations to support informed decisions.
• Keep approvals moving. Coordinate committee papers, agendas, e-approvals and minutes, ensuring submissions are timely, complete and supported by relevant financial insight.
• Connect across the business. Partner with Development, Design, Legal, Operations, Commercial and Finance colleagues, and guide Development teams on the approvals required for each opportunity.
• Make the process better. Contribute to reporting, audit activities, ad-hoc analysis and special projects, while helping improve the efficiency and quality of the team’s work.

What you’ll bring

• A hotel school qualification or bachelor’s degree in Tourism, Finance, Business, Economics or a relevant subject.
• A strong analytical and numerical approach, with the ability to explain financial concepts clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
• Competence and confidence in Microsoft Excel.
• Familiarity with hotel performance metrics and profit and loss statements, alongside an understanding of hotel ownership and business models.
• Knowledge of financial valuation methodologies, including discounted cash flow (DCF).
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to keep analysis and approval activities on track.
• Excellent written and spoken English and fluency in an additional European language would be ideal.
