Join us as a Commis (Intern) in Holiday Inn Express Singapore Katong. You’ll have ambition, talent and obviously, some key skills. We’re looking for someone who can:

Prepare food in accordance with portion and quality standards specified in recipes.

Adhere to local regulations concerning health, safety, or other compliance requirements, as well as brand standards and local policies and procedures.      

 

Responsible Business:  

  • Provides support on daily operations and mise en place
  • Ensure that all relevant buffet / display set-ups are prepared ahead of guest’s arrival and in adherence with hotel standards
  • Assists with the preparation, presentation, decoration and storage of dishes
  • Prepares in advance food, beverage, material and equipment needed for the service
  • Cleans and re-sets his/her working area
  • Demonstrate Awareness of OH&S policies and procedures and ensure all procedures are conducted safely and within OH&S guidelines
  • Be aware of duty of care and adhere to occupational, health and safety legislation, policies and procedures
  • Be familiar with property safety, first aid and fire and emergency procedures and operate equipment safely and sensibly
  • Initiate action to correct a hazardous situation and notify supervisors of potential dangers
  • Communicates to his/her superior any difficulties, guest or internal customer comment and other relevant information
  • Establishes and maintains effective employee working relationships
  • Attends and participates in daily briefings and other meetings as scheduled
  • Attends and participates in training sessions as scheduled
  • Performs related duties and special projects as assigned

 

Accountability: 

Supports the Section Chef by preparing, presenting, storing and serving a selection of dishes. You will also help to create a desired work culture around our Winning Ways of the InterContinental Hotels Group and embrace the IHG Commitment.
