The Global Internal Communications team drives and delivers internal communications at a group level for IHG, predominantly with corporate employees around the world, but also key communications with hotel teams and hotel owners. The team works closely with regional and functional counterparts to build colleague engagement with IHG’s strategic priorities, leadership, and company culture, and operates with three principal areas of focus; corporate internal communications requirements; internal communications campaign design, execution, and measurement; and channels strategy, development, and delivery.
The team sits within IHG’s Global Corporate Communications team, which is made up of internal and external, teams, and belongs to IHG’s Global Corporate Affairs function, which totals almost 140 colleagues across all regions and is led by the Executive Vice President, Global Corporate Affairs (a member of the company’s Executive Committee). There are regional and functional communications teams based in key offices in Atlanta (Americas), Windsor (Europe) and Shanghai (Greater China), with some colleagues based in smaller satellite offices across the globe.
The Role
Join IHG as a Global Internal Communications Executive, a key role supporting our Global Internal & External Corporate Communications teams in delivering impactful storytelling, strategic messaging, and effective communications across IHG.
80% Internal | 20% External | On-call one weekend per month
What You’ll Do
Internal & External Communications
- Develop compelling news stories, initiatives, and creative content.
- Draft communication plans and materials
- Manage internal stakeholders and external agencies.
- Maintain & evolve key channels (IHG’s intranet & corporate website)
- Project manage IHG’s quarterly financial results communications.
- Track impact through analytics & reporting.
Internal Communications
- Oversee the global internal calendar, invites, surveys, and meeting agendas.
- Organise logistics & briefing materials for internal events.
- Edit & curate content for the global newsletter, Elevate Edit.
- Deliver the bi-weekly Comms Digest for the Global Corporate Affairs function.
External Communications
- Produce weekly media roundups for senior leadership.
- Monitor press cuttings & news, keeping the team updated.
- Manage the external team inbox & action requests.
Who You Are:
✔️ Confident, energetic, and passionate communicator who thrives in fast paced environments.
✔️ Experience in internal communications, either in a multinational organisation or agency-side working with large businesses.
✔️ Excellent prioritisation and organisational skills
✔️ A keen eye for detail and a passion for both admin and creative tasks
✔️ Confidence in working with senior leaders and setting up tech for global town halls
✔️ Bonus: Graphic design skills (Adobe InDesign, Canva)
