As our Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for the preparation and presentation of a wide range of pastries, desserts, and baked goods. You will work closely with the Executive Chef and culinary team to ensure the highest standards of quality and consistency. Your creativity will shine through as you develop innovative desserts that reflect global culinary influences while maintaining the elegance and sophistication that the Crowne Plaza Resort Salalah is known for.
A little taste of your day-to-day
Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:
- Create and execute a variety of desserts, pastries, and baked goods for hotel restaurants, banquets, and special events.
- Develop new dessert concepts that reflect both local and international culinary trends.
- Ensure the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the pastry kitchen.
- Lead and train the pastry team, providing guidance and mentorship to junior staff.
- Maintain inventory, order supplies, and control food costs.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction.
- Assist with special dietary requirements, including gluten-free, vegan, and allergen-free desserts.
What do we need from you?
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef in a luxury hotel or fine dining restaurant with international experience.
- Strong knowledge of global pastry techniques and dessert styles.
- Ability to work under pressure and deliver exceptional results.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a passion for pastry arts.
- Experience in managing kitchen staff and leading a team.
- Excellent communication skills in English; knowledge of other languages is a plus.
- Culinary degree or equivalent professional qualification.
