Bottom line? We’re looking for an Assistant Director of Finance & Business Support for Kimpton Tsim Sha Tsui Hong Kong comfortable with balancing the books when it comes to managing the needs of owners, auditors and regulatory agencies while also monitoring and improving hotel profitability, providing full support to Director of Finance & Business Support.
A little taste of your day-to-day
Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:
- Working as an important member of hotel pre-opening team and assisting in building your future finance team and culture.
- Monitoring and controlling new system implementations including general ledger, property management system, points of sales system, procurement system, to name but a few.
- Implementing and maintaining high standard accounting practices and procedures as required by InterContinental Hotels Group Policy, USALI, and HKFRS.
- Driving lasting control mechanisms across the organization and building internal control culture through adjusting internal control practice and leading internal audit processes.
- Assisting in ensuring all accounts are reconciled on monthly basis, reviewing and approving those reconciliations.
- Assisting in the evaluation of existing internal control measures that apply to accounting procedures and computer systems as per IHG Policies and Procedures.
- Assisting in the review of operating equipment stores to avoid unnecessary/excessive purchases and to eliminate (or at least be aware) of obsolete slow-moving items.
- Working with Head of Departments to perform ad hoc cost benefit analysis on various projects
- Interacting, as required, with individuals outside the hotel including, hotel’s legal counsel, insurance companies, tax consultants, auditors, commercial banks and government banks.
What we need from you
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or equivalent. CPA highly preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years’ work experience in hotel finance, with at least 2 years at managerial role.
- Solid work experience in IHG Hotels or BIG 4 audit is an advantage.
- Hands-on, responsible, attention to details, possess good analytical mind.
- Excellent communication skills both internally and externally.
- Familiarized with Sun Ledger, Oracle Opera PMS and SCM is an advantage.
- Advanced users in MS Office Excel and Word.
- Proficiency in both English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin), speaking and writing
