What's the job?

As a Public Area Attendant/ Houseperson, you are responsible for cleaning and maintaining all public areas to ensure they meet the hotel’s standards for cleanliness and presentation as well as ensure our guests have all the amenities and supplies they need for a memorable stay in our great hotel. You will make sure our public spaces in the hotel are always fresh and welcoming for our guests after a busy day at work or exploring Perth’s great city– creating a haven for them to escape and relax in when they return for the day. You will assist the team with room cleanliness as required to ensure the overall cleanliness of the hotel meets Holiday Inn brand standards and be available to assist with guest needs when required. 

What we need from you

• Minimum 6 months experience in a housekeeping, hotel, hospital or hospitality environment.
• Qualifications in Hotel Management related fields are preferred but not a requirement.
• Fitness – you will be on your feet most of the day with lots of bending and kneeling.
• Strength – you will need to lift, push and pull big objects like beds, luggage, bags, and parcels up to 50lbs (23 kg).
• Flexibility – night, early mornings, weekend and public holiday shifts are all part of the job.
• Articulate – excellent communication skills. Bilingual or multilingual language skills are advantageous.  
• A team player, ability to work in a fast-paced environment and priorities your own workload as well as jump in and help your colleagues as needed.
