As Assistant Manager – Terrigal Beach House, you’ll assist the Venue Manager in the management of the food and beverage and gaming operations. You will be responsible for ensuring quality service and standards are maintained to deliver a memorable guest experience. Always comply with regulations concerning health, safety and responsible service of Alcohol & Gaming requirements.

Your day-to-day

  • Supervision of Food & Beverage Attendants, Team Leaders and Supervisors ensuring that they meet deadlines and maintain all Hotel standards
  • Implement and maintain training procedures and operating standards for all duties carried out in the department
  • Conduct on-the-job training for all colleagues
  • Take responsibility for the orientation of new colleagues.
  • Develop the team and improve their performance through coaching and feedback
  • Where required, disciplinary action is to be taken in accordance with the venue’s policy
  • Demonstrate co-operation and trust with colleagues, supervisors, teams and across departments
  • Communicate well to ensure effective shift handovers
  • Interact with department and hotel colleagues in a professional and positive manner to foster good rapport, promote team spirit and ensure effective two way communication
  • Actively participate in and conduct organised meetings
  • Oversee security operatives to ensure safety and compliance for the venue and its guests
  • Ensure tasks and projects are completed as required
  • Working with the other departments to identify additional sales opportunities to enhance revenue streams
  • Drive promotions that deliver great dining experiences for guests
  • Make sure credit and financial transactions are handled in a secure manner
  • Strive for constant improvements and takes responsibility for achieving business results and persevere despite obstacles
  • Understand and communicate the venues business priorities, products and services
  • Work with Venue Manager to ensure you have a clear view of what is required to achieve results; take action and responsibility to deliver those results
  • Take ownership and responsibility for all Venue floats, transactions and monies
  • Drive cost reduction strategies surrounding, labor efficiencies, stock control
  • Respond to guest and colleague complaints, inquires and needs and reports to the Manager any problems
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with all internal customers and guests in order to anticipate their needs
  • Take action to address these needs in order to exceed their expectations
  • Create a positive venue image in every interaction with internal and external customers
  • Adhere to brand standards
  • Maintain a high level of product and service knowledge in order to explain and sell services and facilities to guests
  • Assist guests and escort them to locations within the hotel at their request
  • Maintain knowledge of special programs and events in the hotel in order to recognise and respond to guests needs
  • Proactively manage audio, lighting and weather conditions to best meet the changing needs and expectations of  guests
