In this role you will be supporting the integration of the NOVUM Hospitality Hotels portfolio into IHG’s designated brands. This role will focus on initially assessing how Engineering & Maintenance operations are undertaken before implementing a plan to align current ways of working with those necessary to deliver the outcomes set out within the Property Improvement Plans (PIP’s) created for each property and in the delivery of Great Hotels Guest Love & Brilliant OWNER returns.

Your day to day

  • Direction & support on the continued implementation of appropriate, efficient & effective POMEC (Property Operation, Maintenance, Energy Costs) delivery, which will be monitored over time through the Quore Property Management or a similar mutually agreed programme.
  • Drive compliance assurance to local statutory code and agreed IHG Brand Standards, monitored annually through the Quality Evaluation programme.
  • Undertake Technical Assessments within each property to establish how POMEC management & administration are delivered.
  • Establish a position on how mechanical, electrical & plumbing systems need to be operated & maintained moving forward, reflecting IHG benchmarks on delivery, efficiency & effectiveness and implement the outcomes from this.
  • Support the learning & development of the existing and future Engineering / Maintenance team members (internal / external).
  • Drive the adoption of Energy, Water, Waste & Carbon reduction through supporting the timely implementation Energy Conservation Measures (ECM’s) and other established reduction initiatives.   
  • Support hotels through times when crisis or emergency situations occur.
  • Provide support and advice on the planning and deployment of CAPEX, FF&E / Maintenance Reserves as PiP’s are being implemented.

What we need from you

Whilst we love experience, mindset is of equal importance. We’re looking for someone who is committed with a natural ability to operate effectively in a fast moving, global environment. 

Preferred; completion of a degree, certificate or equivalent experience related to maintenance and engineering 

Critical expertise & recent experience:

  • Experience and knowledgeable on Building Services (MEP) within a hotel environment
  • Experience in having responsibility for testing and record keeping for fire, life, and safety systems, taking remedial action on any Plant, Gas and Air Ventilation equipment in line with legal requirements and safety standards.

Technical Skills & Knowledge

  • Trained in and application of IHG Way of Preventative Maintenance
  • Knowledge of appropriate hotel systems to support operational processes such as service optimization tool (Quore/Hotsos/Knowcross) and the Building Management System
  • Has knowledge of appropriate brand standards and ability to articulate areas of responsibility & accountability?
  • Recognized qualification in a Building Services / Facilities Management environment.
