InterContinental Fiji Golf Resort & Spa is looking for an experienced Director of Sales – Luxury & Leisure with the strategic nous to drive hotel performance and ensure we achieve our commercial goals. The Director of Sales – Luxury & Leisure will be accountable for the strategic business development & sales execution.

A little taste of your day-to-day

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:

  • Help guests - you’ll be happy to help if someone needs assistance with a request or complaint  
  • Provide guests with information (example: loyalty programmes, area attractions, restaurants, facility information) to enhance their guest experience  
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key clients and external contacts in order to produce transient business, mainly from luxury and leisure segments
  • Schedule leisure customer activities at the hotel and coordinate with other hotel-level departments to facilitate services agreed upon by the sales office and prospective clients 
  • Act as main point of contact for site inspections and familiarization plans for luxury travel agents and leisure partners
  • Communicate to appropriate departments all pertinent information requirements and special needs for arriving VIP’s, large groups, and other key guests
  • Develop your team and improve their performance through coaching and feedback, and create performance and development goals for colleagues - recognise good performance 
  • Train colleagues to make sure they hit hotel revenue goals to the standards we expect and have the tools they need to work effectively.
  • Drive a great working environment for teams to thrive – connect departments to create sense of one team  
  • Develop and maintain great working relationships with key clients and external contacts to increase revenue 
  • Manage sales plans to ensure they accurately interpret and support the objectives of the business and use these plans to focus the sales efforts for the luxury and leisure market segments
  • Assist in the annual budgeting and monthly forecasting process by developing and/or maintaining pipeline management tools and statistics.
  • Direct and manage the forecasting process in conjunction with IHG Revenue Services to ensure accurate, timely and complete information.
  • Compile and/or direct the preparation of reports pertaining to the operation of the Sales Department to include, but not limited to the annual and monthly forecast
  • Actively participate in the completion and preparation of the annual Sales & Marketing Plan, quarterly updates, and the property’s annual budget.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key hotel partners, travel agents, consortia, wholesalers and associations
  • Work closely with regional Luxury & Lifestyle Sales Directors to increase exposure and showcase the property with potential clients
  • Increase revenue with market strategies, offerings and networking through attending local and international trade shows, sales trips and networking events where required representing the property
  • Work closely with Tourism Fiji in the leisure traveler space to generate market visibility and increase market share

What we need from you

  • Fiji citizen
  • Bachelor’s degree / higher education qualification / equivalent in marketing or related field 
  • Five or more years of experience in a hospitality or hotel sales and marketing setting with direct supervisory experience over a sales and marketing team
  • Strong knowledge of local businesses and business trends required 
  • High level of written and verbal Business English. Other language will be an advantage.
