At voco Gosford, modern elegance meets warm hospitality in the heart of the Central Coast. Discover our 130 room hotel, featuring six vibrant and exciting hospitality venues; including a spacious 2000m2 modern Australian pub, a chic rooftop bar, a signature restaurant, a swim up pool bar, and two levels of rooftop conference and event space overlooking the stunning Brisbane Waters. At voco Gosford, we’ll cater to both business and leisure guests, as well as provide a swanky new destination for locals to meet.

Our Chief Engineer will oversee the engineering and maintenance operations of the hotel, ensuring the safety and comfort of both guests and team members. They will lead and mentor a skilled engineering team, whilst staying proactive in addressing daily maintenance requirements.

This is an exciting and rare opportunity to join our team during the pre-opening phase of a new hotel, that will look to be the changing face of the Central Coast. Our Chief Engineer will play a pivotal role in managing the pre-opening functions for the Engineering and Maintenance of the hotel, ensuring every detail is carefully executed to guarantee a seamless opening and outstanding guest experience from day one.

Your day to day

A little taste of your day-to-day

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:

●      Directing daily engineering needs to ensure the right team is always on the right task

●      Creating a safe, secure and comfortable environment for our guests to enjoy

●      Maintaining and ordering parts and supplies whilst minimising waste and meeting
our green initiatives

●      Being flexible to react to ad-hoc duties where we have to unexpectedly pull together to get a task completed

●      Building strong relationships with outside contacts including guests, regulatory agencies, others as needed

What we need from you

●      Some college or advanced vocational training

●      Four years’ experience in general building maintenance and/or construction or equivalent combination of education and experience

●      Specialised expertise in plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and carpentry fields

●      Level 3 EPA Certification, HVAC and refrigeration certificate, licensed plumber and/or journeyman status for electrician and carpenter may be required

●      Hotel experience preferred

●      Professional certification and license if required by law
