Your day to day

As the Hotel Accountant, you will work closely with the Group Director of Finance to ensure the smooth running of our multi-purpose Hotel.  We pride ourselves on a supportive, friendly environment where we work together to get the job done.  Compliance is a big focus in this role, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders from our commercial offices (including a luxury co-working space) and residential tenancies. 

 

This is a Full-Time office-based position, with responsibilities across the following key areas:

 

  • Accounts Payable (including expense tracking and PO processes)
  • Accounts Receivable
  • General Cashiering
  • General Ledger 
  • Month End Reporting & Reconciliations
  • Payroll Support
  • General Administration (ordering stationery and office supplies, mail etc).
  • Daily, Weekly, Monthly, and Annual Reporting

 

In addition, you will represent the Administration Office as a member of the WH&S and Emergency Management team, with responsibilities for completing regular workplace inspections, attending quarterly safety meetings and fulfilling your responsibilities under the Hotel’s WH&S Management Plan.


What we need from you

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business/Accounting/Commerce (minimum Cert. IV level)
  • Related Hotel industry experience including use of OPERA (desirable but not essential)
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a multi-faceted Accounting support role
  • Independent, highly motivated team member
  • Methodical, systematic approach with a focus on attention to detail and quality 
  • Highly developed Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience using Xero and Purchase Plus (or similar) would be extremely beneficial.
