Procurement Officer, Crowne Plaza Changi Airport

As a Procurement Officer, you’ll be interacting with various suppliers daily for each department’s purchases such as ingredients for F&B outlets, and the storage of these purchases. . In this role, you will be responsible for managing the procurement process, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services, and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of procurement practices, excellent negotiation skills, and a focus on optimizing costs while maintaining quality.

A little taste of your day-to-day

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:

Procurement Management:

• Source and select suppliers for goods and services in accordance with company requirements.
• Obtain and evaluate competitive quotations, ensuring cost-effectiveness and compliance with quality standards.
• Issue purchase orders and track order status until delivery.

Supplier Relationship Management:

• Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to ensure favorable contracts.
• Resolve any issues or disputes with suppliers in a timely and effective manner.

Compliance and Reporting:

• Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and industry regulations.
• Prepare regular procurement reports on purchasing activities, cost savings, and performance metrics.

Cost Optimization:

• Identify and implement strategies for cost reduction and process improvements.
• Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends and pricing.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Work closely with internal teams such as finance, operations, and logistics to ensure smooth procurement operations.
• Provide support for budget planning and cost control activities.
• Other ad-hoc duties – unexpected moments when we have to pull together to get a task done.

What we need from you?

• Education:
  • Bachelor’s / Diploma in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Experience:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management.
  • Proven experience in vendor negotiations, purchasing, and inventory management.
• Skills:
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with procurement software and systems is a plus.
• Attributes:
  • Attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
