HR Manager, East China


As a sub-regional business partner, your role is to strengthen support to hotel HR functions, increase focus on local talent development and ensure high potentials are developed and moved to retain key skills and capability and to also provide local change management and HR support to hotel based HR teams, ensuring the appropriate resources are applied to build organizational and individual capability on the field.
This will be achieved through effective communication; driving team collaboration; providing guidance and support as required for the delivery of the IHG Vision.
Your day to day
• Lead efforts to embed IHG Ways of Working/values and other tasks assigned.
• Support hotel HR leaders in terms of day-to-day operations/employee relations in East China
• Support hotel talent resourcing process aligning with BrandHearted Behavioral Interview technique requirement;
• Provide support to hotel based talent development/training leaders in East China. Help build individual capability that will establish a strong benchmark for hotel training performance.
• Coordinate delivery of human resources and training programs working closely with the COEs;
• Work with sub regional Human Resources Business Partner to support and follow up Leadership development program implementation;
• Build a committed and effective sub regional hotel Human Resources team through right selection of Human Resources and Training leader, continued coaching and development and facilitating communication and sharing among the sub regional Human Resources and Training leaders;
• Establish a regular Training and Development communication platform to keep hotels updated on the latest events, achievements, and strategies;
• Conduct HR and training review regularly and share best practices to ensure hotel HR Operations, training and development practices complying IHG standards.
What we need from you
• Strong HR operation and execution skills;
• Excellent interpersonal, consultative, communication skills;
• 5 years+ experience as Human Resources generalist, preferably in hotel or hospitality industry
• Experience and understanding of specialist role such as Talent, training highly preferred
• Strong customer focus oriented;
• Ability to diagnose problems and thoroughly analyze information to guide decision making;
• Strong adaptability in an environment of ambiguity or change;
• Ability to work across multiple business units;
• Business acumen that will enable an effective business partnering role with key stakeholders
• Ability to deal effectively with diverse viewpoints and gain consensus as a team player;
• Proficiency in English and Mandarin Chinese.
