What is the job?

We have an exciting opportunity for a confident and service-focused Club Lounge Team Leader (Part Time) to oversee the day-to-day operation of our premium Club Lounge on the top floor and deliver True Hospitality to IHG’s most loyal guests. In this role, you will lead a small team while working closely with Front Office, Crowne Meetings and Food & Beverage teams to create seamless, personalised guest experiences. Reporting to the Front Office leadership team, you will ensure exceptional service standards, drive guest recognition, and maintain the presentation and performance of the Club Lounge. This position is well suited to someone with strong leadership capability, attention to detail and a passion for delivering elevated guest experiences, offering excellent development opportunities within Front Office and Food & Beverage pathways.

 

Your day to day

 

Club Lounge Operations

  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of the Club Lounge.
  • Ensure all service periods are executed to the highest standard, including: Breakfast and Evening Canapés & Beverages.
  • Support guest check-in, check-out, billing, and general enquiries.
  • Ensure guest accounts are managed accurately using Opera PMS.
  • Handle guest requests efficiently and coordinate with relevant departments to ensure timely resolution.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance the Club Lounge offering and guest experience.
  • Support revenue generation through room upgrades, Club Lounge upselling, and promotional initiatives.
  • Maintain Club Lounge presentation, cleanliness and stock levels.

 

Guest Experience & Recognition

  • Deliver personalized and proactive service to all Club Lounge guests, with a particular focus on IHG
  • One Rewards members and VIP guests.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of Hobart, Tasmania, local attractions, restaurants, events, and tourism operators.
  • Assist guests with bookings, recommendations, and itinerary planning where required.
  • Take a proactive approach to making personalised experiences for guests.
  • Championing individualised welcome experiences that continue throughout to create memorable stays.

 

Leadership & People Management

  • Lead and support Club Lounge Attendants through coaching, mentoring, and daily supervision.
  • Conduct daily briefings and communicate operational priorities.
  • Foster a positive and engaged team culture aligned with IHG values.
  • Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members.

 

What we need from you

  • Minimum 2 years in Food & Beverage/Restaurants & Bars within a premium hotel or hospitality environment, with proven experience leading and motivating teams.
  • Qualifications in Hotel Management and/or Food & Beverage (highly regarded).
  • Opera PMS experience (strongly preferred).
  • Valid RSA (Tasmania).
  • Strong knowledge of Hobart/Tasmania and tourism operators.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills. Bilingual or multilingual advantageous.
  • Refined, personable, knowledgeable, proactive, meticulous and curious – demonstrated daily.
  • A collaborative approach, aligned with IHG brand standards, service culture, and values.
  • Awareness of workplace health and safety (OH&S) requirements.
  • Flexibility across a 7-day roster including weekends and public holidays (Part Time).
  • Ongoing full working rights in Australia.
  • Based in Hobart or willing to relocate.
