We’re searching for a Demi Chef de Partie – Indian / Continental / Asian Cuisine to join our Culinary team and support the preparation of high-quality dishes while developing your expertise within your area of specialization at Crowne Plaza Kathmandu Pulchowk.

A little taste of your day-to-day:

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:

● Assisting the Chef de Partie with the daily operations of the assigned section and ensuring the timely preparation of high-quality dishes according to established recipes and standards
● Preparing and presenting dishes within your area of specialization – Indian, Continental, or Asian cuisine – with consistency in taste, quality, portion, and presentation
● Supporting the preparation of mise en place and ensuring all ingredients required for service are properly prepared and available
● Ensuring all food preparation and presentation meet hotel quality, hygiene, and food safety standards
● Following standardized recipes and instructions to maintain consistency in flavor, texture, portion size, and presentation
● Assisting with menu preparation, new dish development, seasonal offerings, and special culinary requirements within your area of specialization
● Coordinating closely with the Chef de Partie, Sous Chef, Chef de Cuisine, and other Culinary team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely service
● Supporting the preparation and execution of restaurant operations, banquets, conferences, weddings, and special events as required
● Monitoring the availability, quality, and proper storage of ingredients required for the assigned section
● Assisting with stock control, portion control, and responsible use of ingredients to minimize food wastage
● Maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient workstation throughout preparation and service
● Ensuring all kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas are properly cleaned, maintained, and ready for use
● Supporting and guiding Commis Chefs and other junior colleagues when required
● Communicating effectively with the Culinary team regarding production requirements, shortages, quality concerns, and operational challenges
● Supporting special culinary events, promotions, festive offerings, and other guest experiences as required

What We need from you:

● Diploma or higher education qualification in Culinary Arts, Hotel Management, or related field preferred
● Minimum 2–3 years of professional culinary experience within a hotel, resort, or upscale restaurant environment, with relevant experience in Indian, Continental, or Asian cuisine
● Good professional knowledge and practical experience in at least one of the following cuisines: Indian, Continental, or Asian
● Good knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, presentation, and kitchen operations within the relevant cuisine
● Passion for food, creativity, and commitment to developing culinary skills and delivering consistent quality
● Ability to work effectively as part of a diverse and fast-paced Culinary team
● Good organizational, communication, and time management skills
● Ability to support and guide Commis Chefs and junior colleagues within the assigned section when required
● Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining quality, hygiene, and presentation standards
● Knowledge of HACCP, food hygiene, and workplace safety standards as required by local regulations
