A little taste of your day-to-day
Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:
- Meet and greet guests as they arrive, offer choice of seating, and then escort them to the table and present menu.
- Inform servers for new guests.
- Maintain an accurate waiting list as needed; advise guests when seating is available.
- Control the reservation book.
- Answer host stand telephone promptly and courteously.
- Maintain knowledge of table numbers and seating capacities for the shift.
- Inspect tables and buffets for proper settings.
- Assist team with side work, clearing tables, and other tasks as requested when not actively working the host stand.
- Ensure proper lighting and heating in the area; ensure proper volume of background music.
What we need from you
- The strength to lift, push and pull big objects up to 50lbs (23 kg) which can also involve bending and kneeling
- A good grasp of reading, writing and basic math
- The flexibility to work night, weekend, and holiday shifts
- Compliance with local laws on food handling and serving alcohol – you’ll need to be above the minimum age required and fluent in the local language
- Great communication – you’ll be warm, welcoming, and easy to talk to
- Open Table experience is a plus.

The hourly rate for this position is $16 per hour.
