Lifeguard - InterContinental Abu Dhabi

At InterContinental Abu Dhabi, we are committed to ensuring that our guests have a safe, enjoyable, and memorable experience. We are looking for a Lifeguard to join our team and provide exceptional safety and service to our guests at our pools. As a Lifeguard, you will be responsible for overseeing the safety of guests at all times, ensuring the pool areas are clean and well-maintained, and responding effectively in case of emergencies. Your role will be key to maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment for all guests using the swimming pool facilities. Your proactive approach to safety and guest service will ensure that every guest feels confident and relaxed while enjoying our world-class pool facilities.

A little taste of your day-to-day:

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly do:

• Monitor and supervise all pool areas to ensure the safety of guests at all times.
• Enforce pool rules and regulations to maintain a safe and pleasant environment for all visitors.
• Respond swiftly and efficiently to emergency situations, administering first aid and CPR as necessary.
• Conduct regular pool safety checks and maintain cleanliness around pool areas.
• Assist in the maintenance of pool equipment and ensure all safety equipment is in good working condition.
• Provide excellent customer service, ensuring guests have a positive and safe experience at the pool.
• Report any safety hazards, accidents, or issues to the relevant authorities or management immediately.
• Keep detailed records of accidents, incidents, and rescues, adhering to hotel and legal reporting requirements.
• Assist with setting up and maintaining poolside furniture and facilities.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, as well as company policies.
• Participate in regular training to stay up-to-date with the latest safety protocols and certifications.

What we need from you:

• Proven experience as a lifeguard in a hotel or resort environment.
• Strong swimming skills and physical fitness.
• Knowledge of CPR, first aid, and emergency rescue procedures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to stay calm and act decisively in emergency situations.
