We are seeking applications for Demi Chef, Chef de Partie and Commis Chef. To be considered you must hold as a minimum Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, and have an interest in working in our kitchen, servicing the Ember & Vine Restaurant, Aviator Bar, Crowne Banquets, Shoalhaven Ballroom and much more!

Your day to day

Your culinary passion and creativity will flow through into your presentation, and you’ll pride yourself on delivering a fantastic culinary experience for guests, with an emphasis on maintaining hygienic standards and consistency. You will be involved in upholding brand standards and creating an environment for both colleagues and guests where we put others at ease by making real human connections, helping them feel welcomed, comfortable, and cared for. 

Every day is different for each role. As a minimum you will

  • Work across all operations of kitchen, from Breakfast/ lunch/ Dinner and events
  • Prepare, cook and serve food
  • Monitor routine workplace operations 
  • Assist in breaking down and setting up various kitchen stations 
  • Prepare kitchen for the restaurant and banqueting 
  • Store stock in compliance with set food safety standards 
  • Monitor, control and order new stock
  • Adhere to all regulations in respect of Health and safety, hygiene, guest safety, fire regulations, emergency procedures, etc 

What we need from you

  • Qualifications in Commercial Cookery/Culinary Arts from a registered training provider
  • Flexibility with night, weekend and public holiday shifts
  • Previous experience working in a commercial kitchen​
  • Sometimes you’ll need to lift, push and pull big objects up to 50lbs (23 kg). This can involve bending and kneeling
  • Good reading, writing and basic maths
  • ​Communication skills – ability to develop rapport within a short time frame​
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment​
  • Previous customer service experience, preferably within the hospitality industry 
  • Display a commitment to our guests by consistently maintaining a high level of quality at all times
